Carew Castle Investigation Report 13.6.09.

Investigation Team:

Equipment used:

Night vision cameras x 5, Dictaphones, Digital cameras, Glass divination, Dowsing rods, Crystals, temperature and humidity reader (not used due to being outside venue).

The report will be done as a room-by-room area-by-area report from both groups from the night, events were picked up on from Michelle and Matt and members of the public who are sensitive…

Ok here is what was picked up on the night:

Tower area:

The feel of an old rocking horse connected with children was picked up on in this area, during a séance members of the circle were rocking backwards and forwards and certain members of the circle felt the back of there hands get hot.

The room next to the tower:

Children were picked up in this room as if frequented many years ago or used by the children of the castle, also a child being swung by his or her arms and legs in fun. There was a lot of commotion in this room at some point in the history of the castle and the loud noise of shoes on a wooden floor was picked up on, there were adults in long white socks as if part of formal dress with red jackets and shiny black shoes.

A member of the group got a headache whilst sat in the window area of the room, which lifted when he moved away from the area. The smell of candles was also picked up on by members of the group in this room and the strong smell of drains or sewage (this cold have been the droppings from the chimney area which is used heavily by bats of the castle).

Members of the group felt the burning sensation on the back of there hands again.

Upstairs on the second floor:

A shortness of breath was felt up here by members of the group and the feeling that this area was used as a changing room for the guards or soldiers of the castle. There was someone connected to this area that was trying to put a hat on or some kind of head garment. The name sir Thomas was picked up on and the armour that he wore had red on it but unsure why, during a call out members of the circle were getting pushed and one person felt the top of there head sting as if injured. Some of the female members felt there hands burning again and cold air or blowing on their hands. The feeling of lots of smoke was picked up on in this area as if a fire or perhaps a smoking room at some point in history (more likely to be a fire). The feeling of being pulled down was experienced and the name Benjamin was picked up on during the stay in there.

Stairs area:

All that was felt in this area was the feeling of a male presence who paced up and down and the sound of tapping was heard whilst the group was on the stairs.

The kitchen area:

A ladies presence was felt in the kitchen as if busy going about her chores, music was heard in the area of the kitchen that sounded like a piano. Also a female kept coming in and out of the kitchen area but she wasn’t a cook maybe a maid or servant to the kitchen. A member of the group “Chris” felt a strange tingling down his back as if someone was stood behind him quite close. The lady who was coming in and out of the kitchen busily had gooseberries attached to her as if she had been picking them for the cook or kitchen and that she was preparing something with them. Yellow flowers were also picked up in the kitchen and a sweet smell associated with them was also picked up on by members of the group.

A male energy was picked up in the kitchen area that was not very pleasant, he had a very unclean smell about him and he was a heavy drinker, it was also picked up that he was quite illiterate and not very educated. Two members of the group had to move because they could smell him and felt him right in front of them, as they moved he kept following them round. The name “Saram” was picked up on, maybe connected to the male but possibly one of the women also?

The male had something wrong with his right knee perhaps an injury of some kind, which gave him a distinct limp (possibly a soldier who could not fight or serve anymore?). The dowsing rods were going daft in here also and were responding to questions asked by the group.

The turret room area:

The sense of ships was picked up on in this room as if it was used in planning or organisation of sailing or war. A male presence was again picked up on in this area that was not happy with us being there, possibly the same male from downstairs as he did have a very distinct smell about him. He was not a very pleasant man in life as well as death.

The Undercroft/Celler:

The feeling of being watched was picked up on and by a few spirits not just one. Two of the team members heard a loud thud coming from the corridor leading to the kitchen area; the dowsing rods were going daft in this room and responding to questions asked with great accuracy.

A strong smell of flowers was picked up on by members of the group and the smell was pinpointed to sweet peas or crisanthermons.

Gold was picked up on in the room as if smuggling or deals that were kept quiet went on down there at some point years ago. A female guest felt a male presence standing right in front of her and felt blowing on her face and as she moved it followed her round.

New wing of the castle:

The strong feeling of someone falling to there death was picked up on in this area and the sound of screaming associated with this is heard from time to time in the castle within this area (like a stone tape recording not a haunting).
